Carbonero Estates
Carbonero Estates was developed initially in the 70's and much more so in the 80's. This area has lots of larger newer homes, whereas Pasatiempo has a lot of older homes that need updating. A woodsy area, but not in the woods, some have ocean views, others beautiful canyon views.
These homes are larger than most of what Santa Cruz has, and have a quiet setting. Located just minutes from town and a great commute location, it is one of those nice little areas to find that you will miss unless you are a local. Homes typically are in the $900,000-$1.3M range and are usually 2000-3500 square feet in size.The terrain is almost all hilly, which gives almost all homes a lovely view of the forested hills. Some streets here are Carbonero, Isbel, Calcita, Esmeralda and a few others if you wish to search by street names.
