Felton is a vibrant community that has a close knit feel and is home to many who make the commute over the hill, but want the country atmosphere. It has large name stores as well a local merchants who sell a smattering of goods and services.Located approximately 20 minutes to Santa Cruz and 12 minutes to Scotts Valley, it is a great place to live. Nearby is the Christian retreat of Mt Hermon which has a variety of homes in the trees and religious events. Located about 10 minutes east of Felton are the storied areas of Lompico and Zayante.
The town has a rich history of lumbering and still has a large lumber yard there. The old Santa Cruz lumber yard in town is now named Lumbermans. There are a few spots to eat in Felton, from the good fast food place Taqueria Vallarta, which is over the JB’s Restaurant location to fancier places like La Bruschetta.
