Moore Creek Estates, West Side Santa Cruz
Moore Creek Estates was a development in the 80’s as well and were sort of out there, at first in the upper west side of Santa Cruz. Since then the area has built up around it and they are part of the surrounding neighborhood. This neighborhood was designed mostly by Thatcher and Thompson Architects. The designs are nice and they are almost all 2 or 3 level. These homes were at the time, and still generally are, some of the largest in the West Santa Cruz area, with the larger ones in the mid 3000 square foot range. The lots are mostly a quarter to a third of an acre. The main street that loops around is Moore Creek Road, and there is Stoneybrook Way and Ravenswood Court off of it. Below is another development that is similar in general homes size and amenities, on Lisa Court. These homes generally range in the million dollar –two million dollar range, with most in between. There is Moore Creek Preserve abutting this development. About 3 blocks away is the University Terrace Park, which has kids play structures and a basketball court as well as room for kids to run around.
