The Santa Cruz Gardens neighborhood was built by Hal Porter development in the 70's and has quite a wide variety of homes. Santa Cruz Gardens starts at the foot of the hill on Thurber Lane and goes up the hill.Later there were other newer developments at the back side of Santa Cruz Gardens, which are apparent from the housing design. This large parcel of real estate is atop a hill and is considered Soquel per our MLS and is searched under area 46. The zip code is 95065. The residents are governed by Santa Cruz County regulations. There is an elementary school named Santa Cruz Gardens Elementary.The homes range from smaller 2 bedroom 2 bath single level homes around 1200 square feet to large 5 bedroom 3 bath homes up to about 2500 square feet. These homes were to help the growing demand for larger homes and bigger families. This area is one of those hard to find unless you are a local. The area has a community swimming pool that you can join for a small fee.
The area is accessed solely from Thurber Lane, off of Soquel. It is a development with no through traffic. On the flat lower portion of Thurber lane is the Fire Department and a number of condominium developments. The freeway is only a few minutes away, so this is a great commute location, and Dominican and Sutter hospitals and shopping are close by too.
Some streets in this development are Thurber, Helen, Kenney, Corinne, Katherine, Waugh, Winkle, Pestana, Cabrillo, Serrel and a few others. To search for homes in this area search Soquel, or area 46.
