University Terrace, West Side Santa Cruz CA
University Terrace was and is one of the largest developments in upper upper west side Santa Cruz. This development was to provide housing for the new workers and professors at UCSC. These homes are mostly 2 story, though there are single level ones as well.
These homes generally lie
on flat lots, and have nice usable yards. This area has some relatively
deep arroyos which line the southern and western flanks of this
plateau. The homes that overlook these arroyos have a great sense of
"being in touch with nature" as these areas are teeming with bird and
animal life. There are pretty vistas and a nice sense of spaciousness
as you are not looking into the next door neighbor's yard.
Many of these homes are 3 and
4 bedroom and range from 1400-2400 square
feet. The single level homes are usually 3 bedroom as well. They built
a park, University Terrace Park, which is a nice local park and
has something for kids and adults of every age. It does not have
athletic fields, but there is plenty of room to run around or throw the
ball to the dog.
Some of the street names you
will find are Nobel, Seton, McMillian,
Northrup, Segri, Seaborg, Calvin, and Donna Ct. You can search this
area under area 43,
