Seniors and Health

AAA is offering a senior driving course that is available to members and non members as well. The computer based driving test makes it convenient to assess your driving skills in the privacy of your own home. Find out how you are likely to do on your DMV test, before you or mom have to make that eventful journey.

The AAA  test offers a way for seniors to lower their risk to themselves, and others, as well as reducing the possibility of traffic violations and injury or collision.Take the test on your own time, there is no time limit on the test. If you are a member and you complete the test successfully, you are eligible for a 3 year reduction in your auto premiums.

If you find the test tells you that driving is not in your future, having the talk on giving up the keys is a difficult one to do with your parents or kids. Losing your driving is not the end of the world, but you will need to get a new system of transportation. There are a number of ways to get around, but the bus is the most common. If you have physical disabilities, there are services such as Paracruz that will get you door to door. Life is full of change, take this one in stride and adapt. Just because you can't drive, there are plenty of things you can still do.
