Scotts Valley Dog Park
Bluebonnet Road. Scotts Valley, California 831-438-3251This off leash dog park is located in the Skypark complex next to the soccer fields. The dog park offers 1.2 fully enclosed acres which is divided into two sections. One section is for small dogs under 25 pounds, puppies or shy dogs. The other section is for all dogs but primarily for larger and more active dogs. Other amenities include water bowls, wading pools, tennis balls, other dog toys, drinking fountains, shaded seating, plastic bags and pooper scoopers. To get there from Highway 17, take the Mt. Hermon exit and follow Mt. Hermon Road straight. Pass two stoplights and take the second right into the shopping center at the movie theatre sign. Go about .1 miles and turn left on Bluebonnet Road. The dog park is on the left.

Felton
Henry Cowell State Park
Highway 9. Felton, California 831-335-4598Dogs are allowed in the picnic area, the campground, and on Pipeline Road, Graham Hill Trail, and Meadow Trail. They are not allowed on any other trails or interior roads. Dogs must be leashed. The park is near Felton on Highway 9 in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Traveling from San Jose to the main entrance: Take Highway 17 towards Santa Cruz. After you go over the mountains, turn right on Mt. Hermon Road. Follow Mt. Hermon road until it ends at Graham Hill Road. Turn right, and go to the next stop light (Highway 9). Turn left on Highway 9 and go through downtown Felton. The park entrance will be a half mile down on your left. You can park outside and walk a half mile into the park, or you can drive in and pay a fee.

New Leaf Felton

Dogs are not allowed in the store, but you may go in and order from the deli and sit at the tables outside with your dog. Dogs must be attended to, well behaved, and leashed.

Boulder Creek
Big Basin Redwoods State Park

Old Creek, California 95006 831-338-8860 and 800-444-PARK (7275)This park is California's oldest park and is home to the largest continuous stand of ancient coast redwoods south of the bay area. It offers a wide variety of recreation and other activities. Dogs of all sizes are allowed. There are no additional pet fees. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time, and they must be leashed and cleaned up after. Dogs are allowed in the picnic area, the campground area, on paved roads, and the North escape road only. Dogs are not allowed anywhere at Rancho del Oso or on any other trails or interior roads. They must be kept in the RV or tent at night. Check at Park Headquarters for scheduled guided "dog walks", which are informative group hikes that give dog owners a chance to take their dogs along while learning about redwood ecology and park history. The camping and tent areas also allow dogs. There is a dog walk area at the campground. There are no electric or water hookups at the campgrounds.
