Cafe Rio is soon to be opening it is rumored this Wednesday. The venerable restaurant is going through a make over after a demise and change of ownership. Part of the demise was the construction on the esplanade, which is mostly done now,and the economy, and some menu changes.
There are signs of fresh varnish and paint which were glad signs of giving life to our beach side area. One restaurant helps support the other establishments and we will be glad to have their good food again to enjoy.
Cafe Rio has a nice courtyard that has been renovated a bit, which is always sought after on sunny afternoons for a nice cocktail by the beach or a place to have a beer after a good walk.
The patio is a great place to wait if you need to for the seating inside to open. I favor it over waiting inside at the bar.
It is rumored that the lovely red head Jeannie is the new owner of the place which should ensure it runs smoothly and people are greeted with a familiar face in a familiar place.
