Looking for a Home in the Woods? Check out Woods Cove in Santa Cruz

Looking for a Home in the Woods? Check out Woods Cove in Santa CruzAre you looking for a home in the Santa Cruz area nicely tucked into the woods near countless opportunities to enjoy the mountains and get outdoors, yet not too far removed from the best beaches in California and all within a decent commute to work? Then the Woods Cove neighborhood is worth a look.

Where is Woods Cove?

You can find Woods Cove just off Graham Hill Road in the Scotts Valley area of Santa Cruz County. This area was once part of Henry Cowell's land along with all of the land that the college UC Santa Cruz sits on. You can find it neighboring the horse show grounds at Santa Cruz Horseman's Center on Graham Hill Road and is north of the San Lorenzo River which makes up the southern boundary of the community. It is also within walking distance of Henry Cowell Park.

It is a relatively newer residential development that broke ground in 2003 and finished construction around 2005. Homes were built by Standard Pacific Development. The development features luxury properties tucked into the gorgeous wooded area of Santa Cruz County between Scotts Valley and the Pasatiempo Golf Course and neighborhood.

Homes in Woods Cove

The main developer had large luxury properties in a country-like rural setting in mind. Most of the homes are built by the original developer and some lots in the community were purchased and developed individually for one-of-a-kind custom luxury properties. This means that the neighborhood is not a place to find a cookie-cutter style home where it seems like there are only three or four different home designs stamped out and only made different by exterior paint colors. It gives a nice variety and more choices. Architectural styles of homes in the community include modern California with a Spanish influence. Homes are located on sizeable lots of nearly a half acre and some are as large as an entire acre. Many homes offer four or more bedrooms and range in size from 3900 square feet to 5200 square feet. These amazing homes with ample room tucked into a quiet yet amazing portion of Santa Cruz County do come with a price tag to match, many of the properties start around $ 2 million. About Scotts Valley in Santa Cruz County

Scotts Valley is on the west side of Santa Cruz Mountains famous for its location in the redwood forest. There is a lot of fun in this suburban area of the county. It was once a prominent stagecoach stop on the route between Santa Cruz and San Jose with tales dating back over 150 years. One of the most notable activities in Scotts Valley is the system of hiking trails at Glenwood Preserve. For those with furry family members the West Glenwood Preserve Trails are extremely popular as is the Bark Park at Skypark a popular public park with a playground, sports courts, ball fields, more walking trails, and a skate park.

Scotts Valley is also home to the Scotts Valley Farmers Market popular for the Pop Up Breakfast series in the summer. This is where local chefs whip up their most impressive breakfast creations freshly right in the market. As they cook they teach spectators about what they are doing and the local ingredients they are using all readily available and sold in the market.
