Just a bit further down the shore only about a 15-minute walk from Mariners Cove is the iconic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the Santa Cruz Beach. The boardwalk is a hub of beach activity from amusement rides to arcade games, and some of the best food on the beach. Shop some local stores or just stroll up and down the boardwalk and people-watch. 

Neary Lagoon and Wildlife Refuge

The Neary Lagoon and Wildlife Refuge is almost in the backyard of Mariners Cove, sharing a border with the lagoon means enjoying any time. The lagoon is an area of Santa Cruz that feels like you have escaped to a completely different place immersed in natural surroundings. It is the most peaceful public park space. Here you will find paved walking trails, lush native foliage, the wildlife refuge, sports courts, two playgrounds, and a pollinator garden. 

Depot Park

Located at the end of Chesnut Street is Depot Park. The park has many features one of the most popular is the bike/skate park. It is a fun space to enjoy the outdoors and stay active doing something high energy and fun. A great spot for kids and active adults who love high-energy sports. The park also features green space, sports courts, and a playground.

Pacific Point Market and Cafe

Located at 302 Pacific Avenue it is one of the most popular local cafes in the city and one of the many local restaurants near Mariners Cove. It has been called a local gem by reviewers. Make sure to try the breakfast burritos.

Daisy from San Jose left this review on Yelp - "Wonderful cafe. The eggs benny hit the spot. Service was quick and the staff was nice. You either have to pay online or cash though so come prepared. Will def come here again as it's so close to the beach"
