Adjacent to Cliffwood Heights is another large condo development called Capitola Knolls which was developed in the early 1970's.New Brighton State Beach is within walking distance from these. Cabrillo College is about a 5 minute drive to these, and they have easy access to the freeway as they border it. Capitola Knolls has a pool as amenities, and nice spacious ground within walking distance to the beach. This 164 unit complex is well maintained and sprawls over 13 acres of grounds. Nearby is Imperial Tennis courts for the tennis enthusiast who wants a competitive club. The condominiums, which are 2 and 3 bedrooms have fireplaces, which the Capitola Shores development does not. They range from about 900-1300 square feet and are clustered in groups of 4 with a laundry at each building, just like Capitola Shores.They are single level, though some are ground floor, some on the second story. They are surrounded by grassy knolls and are well maintained. They have street names like Callas, Sutherland, Sills, and Ponselle. The location is good for an inexpensive beach home as New Brighton Beach is about a 15 minute walk away.
