Carbonero Estates is a neighborhood that is located off of El Rancho Drive, across the freeway from the Pasatiempo Golf Course Neighborhood. Carbonero Estates was initially developed in the 60's and 70's as an upscale neighborhood of size and character for those who wanted a more woodsy feel. Carbonero Estates Homes For Sale

Carbonero Estates is one of those neighborhoods that you have to be a local to find. It's absolutely hidden and a gem at that.Sort of mountainy, hilly and has Santa Cruz ocean and city views, as well as views of the lovely mountains around Branciforte Drive. The top has a nice little condominium development that you'd never knew was there. This Santa Cruz neighborhood is a great commute location and is accessed off of Market Street- Isbel and by the Pasatiempo exit on Hwy 17 off of El Rancho. The neighborhood has generally larger nicer homes in the 2000-3000 square foot range and some Carbonero homes have ocean views that almost rival Pasatiempo. De Laveaga Park is nearby for hiking, tennis, softball or frisbee golf.
